Surcharges:
10% of income tax, where total income is between Rs. 50 lakhs and Rs.1 crore.
15% of income tax, where total income exceeds Rs. 1 crore.

Education cess:
3% on sum of total income tax + surcharge.

***The minimum tax exemption limit for senior citizens — those who are 60 years or older — is at Rs.3,00,000 for FY 2017-2018, FY 2016-2017, FY 2015-16, FY 2014-15; and Rs.2,50,000 for FY 2013-14.
